BTT Youth League - Coach Education
The BTT Soccer Club offers two (2) types of training for the coaches and asst coaches in the Youth League:
- Coach Certification Courses (hosted by Idaho Youth Soccer)
- Coach Preseason Skills Training Sessions (hosted by BTT)
Coach Certification Courses (hosted by Idaho Youth Soccer)
Idaho Youth Soccer (IYSA) hosts several certification courses for coaches and asst coaches throughout the year. Three of these courses are relevant for coaches in our Youth League:
- Grassroots Introductory Course: This course is designed to be an introduction into the basics of coaching for coaches and assistant coaches for our Youth League teams. Theory of youth development for all age groups . Skill-builders, methods of coaching and practical practice ideas for the beginning coach. Grassroots Coursing has a free introductory course followed by online and in-person courses for 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11. (Covid has changed these courses a little.)
- Grassroots Courses: These courses are designed for coaches and assistant coaches for our Youth League teams that are ready for advancement in their specific age group. Theory of youth development for all age groups . Skill-builders, methods of coaching and practical practice ideas for the beginning coach

We strongly encourage all of the coaches and asst coaches in our Youth League to attend the courses listed above.
Notes:
- You must be a registered coach in the BTT Youth League prior to signing up for any of the certification courses listed above.
- IYSA will charge you a fee for taking these courses. If you successfully complete any of the certification courses listed above, BTT will reimburse you for the fees you paid to IYSA..
- Coaches/Asst Coaches must pre-register with IYSA for all certification courses prior to attending.

Coach Preseason Skills Training Sessions (hosted by BTT)
The BTT Youth League also has Coach Preseason Skills Training Sessions for coaches and asst coaches before the season begins.
While the Coach Preseason Skills Training Sessions are not mandatory, all coaches and asst coaches should make every effort possible to attend the session(s) for the age groups they will be coaching.
Each session covers age-specific topics that will help you become a better coach. You can attend as many of these sessions as you want, but you must pre-register so we know how many to expect for any given session.
